About Mrs. Marianne
I earned my CDA (Child Development Associate) in 1986, while I was employed by the Head Start Program. I resigned my position and opened my home to children & their families in 1993. I am presently practicing as a State Registered Family Child Care Practioner which means that my program meets a variety of health, safety & early learning standards that help ensure your child will be safe, and well cared for. I continue my Professional Development by attending several hours of Training per year that are offered through Community Services for Children as well as Professional Development online .
I have been caring for children since the young age of 10!
"I understand the anxiety parents feel at the very idea of leaving their most precious gift with a stranger. It is my desire to make that feeling disappear quickly, as I too was once in your shoes. Leaving your child with someone else while you go to work isn’t an easy life choice. But it is my goal to help you feel more secure in that decision. I strive every day to address the needs of children and their families. My main objective is to ensure an excellent program, show my dedication to your child and offer an environment that is warm and inviting.
I am a mother, stepmother, and grandmother, however I do not have small children of my own living at home which makes me available to focus more attention and time with your little one.
I am married to my best friend Jerry. We adopted a Lab-mix. that the children grew up with.
Elvis is a very good around the children and is up to date with vaccinations. Having an animal friend can help children learn compassion & responsibility.
My growing concern for the increased violence and lack of respect in society today has led me to take a stand to ensure Christian Values are taught - offering an affordable quality program - teaching and modeling a Kindness Curriculum and an Anti-Violence Policy. I encourage self discipline and invite the children to use prayers at mealtimes, listen to and watch Bible Stories. Christian songs & toys are part of our curriculum. The children will receive etiquette instruction that teaches manners. We welcome children of all races, creeds, and abilities into our program.
As a member of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of the Young Child), NAFCC, (National Association of Family Child Care) & PACCA (PA Child Care Association) as well as other professional organizations, I keep informed by reading the latest research in Child development and I receive continuous Professional Development training through Penn State, Keystone College, CSC (Community Services for Children) & Kindermusik International, as well as various other institutions sprinkled through out the County. I have a sincere interest for the development of the “Whole Child”. I offer KinderMusik, & Signing Smart… KM & Signing Smart are based on the research of the brain which explains that both hemispheres’ of the brain are stimulated through use of these curricula.
